What inspired you to pursue a career in STEM?
My father worked for the Air Force, so air shows were an annual occurrence. One year, the space shuttle Enterprise was brought to the air show. From then on, I knew I wanted to work on the space program.

What is the coolest project you have worked on and why?
The International Space Station, because that’s what I’ve always wanted to do.

Role models and heroes:
Neil Armstrong, Sally Ride, Lt. Torres on Voyager, Kaylee on Firefly.

Advice for future STEMinists?
Never give up. From the outside, the road to success may look like a straight line, but the reality is that working towards your dream can seem like a maze.

I use iGoogle all the time to track news and blogs. One of my favorite blogs has been geekfeminism.org.
