The Gender Amplified Music Festival takes place in New York City on September 28.
Gender Amplified works to celebrate and support women in music production, and this month’s Festival will include instructional workshops in music technology (such as “What is Sound?” and “Music Production on Smartphones”), networking opportunities (a space to make and share beats and a reception), and exciting discussions with speakers like:
- Michele Darling, a sound designer, recording engineer and electronic musician
- DJ Reborn, a DJ, educator, and musical director/sound designer
- Brian Smith, former co-investigator of RISD’s “STEM to STEAM” initiative, an effort to introduce art and design thinking into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education and research
- and many more.
